# VPNresellers

Connect your own VPNresellers account to deliver VPN access after confirmed payment. Each business uses its own API token and reseller balance. Customers receive one VPN account per subscription and manage their access from your customer portal.

## Before you start

* Have a VPNresellers account with an API 4.1 access token and sufficient reseller credit.
* Sign in as the PayRequest business owner. Team members cannot configure the connection or use the integration's recovery actions.
* Configure your payment provider and customer portal for the subscriptions you want to sell. VPNresellers delivers the VPN service; it does not collect customer payments.

## Connect your account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open VPNresellers">
    In the dashboard, go to **Sell → Services & integrations** and open **VPNresellers**, or visit `/apps/vpnresellers`.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter your API token">
    Paste your own API 4.1 token into **API access token** and click **Connect**. PayRequest checks the connection before saving it and stores the token encrypted.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check your balance">
    Confirm the connection succeeds and review **Reseller balance**. Use **Test connection** to refresh the connection check. Active VPN accounts consume reseller credit daily, so keep your balance funded.
  </Step>
</Steps>

To replace a token, enter the new token and click **Update connection**. Use a token for the same reseller account: existing VPN services remain linked to their original provider account.

## Create a VPN product

1. Click **Create VPN subscription** on the integration page or in **Products**. You can also select **VPN subscription** in the full product wizard when an active VPNresellers connection exists.
2. Enter the product name, description, positive price, currency and VAT settings.
3. Select your **VPN provider** under **VPN delivery**.
4. Choose billing every **one month** or **one year**.
5. Complete the wizard and save the product. Make it active and visible when you are ready to sell it.

<Info>
  VPN products use recurring subscription billing with automatic VPN delivery. The first payment is charged immediately. Free trials, free plans, quantity selection and customer pausing are not supported; each subscription delivers one VPN account.
</Info>

When editing a VPN product, its delivery connection is preserved. Existing VPN services retain their original provider and billing period.

## Payment and access

| Event | VPN access |
| - | - |
| First fully paid order or linked invoice | PayRequest queues VPN account creation and activation. |
| Renewal paid before access expires | The new month or year extends the remaining paid access. |
| Renewal paid after access expires | A new month or year starts from the payment time. |
| Unpaid or failed renewal | No extra access is granted. Existing paid access lasts until its end date. |
| Subscription canceled | Access remains available until the end of the paid period. |
| Subscription paused, suspended or archived | VPN access is disabled during synchronization. |
| Latest access-granting payment reversed | VPN access is disabled during synchronization. |

PayRequest counts the initial order and its associated invoice as one paid period. Synchronization runs after relevant billing changes and reconciles services every five minutes. Delivery and status changes may therefore take a few minutes.

<Note>
  The portal shows **Access paid until**. VPNresellers uses a date-only expiry, while PayRequest reconciles the paid-until time. Provider expiry processing can differ, so the remote cutoff is not guaranteed to occur at the exact displayed second.
</Note>

## Customer setup

Customers sign in to your customer portal, open **My services**, select their VPN subscription and open the **VPN** tab. Order details and order-completion emails can also include a **Manage VPN** link to the subscription when it is linked to the order.

The tab shows the service status, **Access paid until** and the VPN username. While access is active, authorized customers can:

* Click **Show VPN password** or **Hide password**.
* Set a new VPN password of **12–50 characters**. Password changes are limited to one attempt per minute.
* Choose a protocol and server location, then click **Download configuration**.

| Protocol | Setup |
| - | - |
| WireGuard | Download the `.conf` file and import it into a WireGuard client. |
| OpenVPN | Select a connection port, download the `.ovpn` file and import it into an OpenVPN client. Use the VPN username and password when prompted. |
| VLESS | Download the `.txt` file and import its link into a compatible client. |

The primary customer and contacts with **Admin** or **Operations** access can manage VPN credentials and download configurations. **Billing** and **Viewer** contacts cannot access credentials.

<Warning>
  Configuration files contain private access keys. Keep them private, along with the VPN password and reseller API token.
</Warning>

## Delivery problems

Open `/apps/vpnresellers` and review **VPN services**. Each entry shows the username, status, paid-until date and any delivery error.

### Insufficient reseller credit

Top up your VPNresellers balance, then click **Synchronize** for the affected service. Paying a PayRequest invoice does not top up your reseller balance.

### Connection or provider errors

Use **Test connection** and check your API token. Update the connection if necessary. For a temporary provider failure, wait and retry **Synchronize**. Customers with delayed delivery should contact your business through the portal.

### Account creation needs verification

If an account-creation request has an uncertain result, PayRequest searches for the original username before trying to deliver it again. It stops automatic recreation when it cannot confirm whether the account exists.

1. Click **Synchronize** to recover an existing account.
2. If the service still needs creation verification, wait at least **ten minutes** after the uncertain attempt.
3. As the business owner, click **Verify and retry creation** and confirm the action. PayRequest checks the provider account list and retries creation only if the original username is not found.
