Daily Business Summary

Start every workday with a clear picture of what happened in your business. The Daily Business Summary is an automated email report delivered each morning at 8:00 AM, covering the last 24 hours of activity — including overnight billing jobs, payments, new customers, and your current business health.
The Daily Business Summary is opt-in — it’s disabled by default. Enable it in Settings → Notifications under the Reports & Digests category.

What’s Included in Your Summary

The daily email is organized into four clear sections so you can quickly scan what matters most.

Overnight Activity

Every night, PayRequest runs automated jobs to keep your billing running smoothly. The summary tells you exactly what happened:
JobWhat It Tracks
Subscription RenewalsHow many subscriptions were billed and total revenue collected
Renewal FailuresSubscriptions that failed to renew (payment issues)
Trial ConversionsFree trials that converted to paid subscriptions
Invoice Reminders SentAutomated payment reminders sent to customers
Debt Collection NoticesDebt collection emails processed
Overnight jobs run on a fixed schedule: subscription billing at 5:00 AM, trial conversions at 6:00 AM, debt collection at 7:00 AM, and invoice reminders at 9:00 AM. The daily summary is sent at 8:00 AM covering the last 24 hours, so it includes the current night’s billing and trial jobs plus yesterday’s reminders.
The summary includes smart alerts:
  • All renewals successful — a green confirmation so you know everything is healthy
  • Renewal failures detected — a warning with the count, prompting you to check your subscriptions dashboard

Payments & Revenue

A quick snapshot of money flowing through your business:
  • Payments Received: Total number of successful payments
  • Revenue: Total amount collected
  • Failed Payments: Payments that didn’t go through
  • Chargebacks: Disputes initiated by customers (count and amount)
  • Refunds: Refunds processed (count and amount)

Customers & Orders

Track your business growth day by day:
  • New Customers: Customers who registered or were added
  • New Orders: Orders placed (with total value)
  • New Subscriptions: Recurring subscriptions started
  • Cancelled Subscriptions: Subscriptions ended by customers

Current Status

A real-time health check of your business at the time the report is generated:
  • Active Subscriptions: Total active recurring subscriptions
  • Outstanding Invoices: Unpaid invoices (count and total amount)
  • Overdue Invoices: Past-due invoices that need attention (count and total amount)
When you have overdue invoices, the summary includes a direct “View Invoices” button so you can take action immediately.

What the 24-Hour Window Covers

Since the email is sent at 8:00 AM, the reporting window runs from yesterday 8:00 AM to today 8:00 AM. This means each summary includes:
  • Yesterday’s daytime: Customer sign-ups, orders, payments throughout the day
  • Last night’s jobs: Subscription billing (5:00 AM), trial conversions (6:00 AM), debt collection (7:00 AM)
This ensures you never miss overnight activity in your morning briefing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. A summary with zero activity is still valuable — it confirms your systems are running and nothing needs attention. The “Current Status” section always shows your live business metrics.
Currently, the summary is sent at 8:00 AM (Europe/Amsterdam timezone). This timing is optimized to include overnight billing results (5:00-7:00 AM) while arriving before your workday starts.
The daily summary uses the same email system as all PayRequest emails (Postmark). It counts as one transactional email per day per account.
Real-time notifications (like “Payment Received” or “New Order”) are sent immediately when events occur. The daily summary is a consolidated overview of everything that happened in the last 24 hours, including background job results that don’t trigger individual notifications.
Currently, all sections are included in every summary. The email is designed to be a quick scan — sections with zero activity take up minimal space.
