Sync Product Changes

When you edit a product, PayRequest does not automatically change any existing subscriptions built from that product. Prices and custom fields are captured on the subscription at the moment it’s created — editing the product afterward only affects new subscriptions going forward.
Existing subscriptions are never silently changed by a product edit. If you need to update existing subscribers, use one of the tools below — both require you to explicitly opt in.

What Gets Captured at Creation

Price

The subscription’s recurring_amount is set once when the subscription is created and stored independently — it does not reference the product’s current price.

Custom Fields

The subscription stores its own copy of the product’s custom field configuration at signup time.

Updating Prices on Existing Subscriptions

Product price changes don’t propagate to existing subscriptions automatically. To intentionally change the price on subscriptions that already exist, use the Bulk Price Adjustments wizard — see Bulk Price Adjustments for the full guide covering percentage/fixed/set-price increases, scheduling, rounding, and required customer notice periods.

Syncing Custom Fields to an Existing Subscription

If you add, modify, or remove a custom field on a product, subscriptions created before that change keep their original field configuration. The Sync with Product tool on each subscription’s detail page lets you review and selectively apply those differences — one subscription at a time.
1

Open the subscription

Go to the subscription’s detail page. The Sync with Product card shows whether it’s In Sync or Out of Sync with the product’s current custom field configuration — this is checked automatically every time you load the page.
2

Review the differences

Click Sync Fields (or Check for Updates if already in sync) to open the sync modal. Each difference is labeled:
  • New Field — exists on the product but not on this subscription
  • Modified — the field exists on both but its configuration differs
  • Removed from Product — exists on this subscription but no longer on the product
3

Select which changes to apply

Check the boxes for the changes you want to apply. New and modified fields are pre-selected by default; removed fields are not. Applying a “Removed” change deletes the field’s current value from this subscription.
4

Confirm

Click to sync the selected fields. Only this subscription is updated.
Sync changes apply to that subscription only — other subscriptions on the same product are not affected. There is no bulk version of this tool; to sync many subscriptions, you’d repeat this per subscription.

FAQ

No. The new price only applies to subscriptions created after the change. To update existing subscriptions, use Bulk Price Adjustments.
No. Use the Sync with Product tool on each subscription’s detail page to add it manually.
Not currently — the Sync with Product tool works one subscription at a time from that subscription’s detail page.
Applying a “Removed from Product” change deletes that field’s value from the subscription along with its configuration. The sync modal shows a warning with the current value before you confirm.
