Memberships

A membership is the recurring product customers buy to enter your private Community. Each PayRequest Page connects to one membership product. That product is the single source of truth for the plan name, description, image, price, billing interval, and benefits.
Membership setup lives under Community in the dashboard. There is no separate Membership tab under PayRequest Page when you use Community.

Membership and Community

Community

Build the welcome page, organize content into sections, and preview the private members area.

Availability

Memberships and Community are included with Premium and higher plans. Before accepting members, connect at least one supported recurring payment provider:
  • Mollie — the first payment creates a mandate for future recurring charges. Enable SEPA Direct Debit in Mollie.
  • Stripe Connect — subscriptions run directly on your verified connected Stripe account.
  • PayRequest Merchant of Record — PayRequest processes the Stripe payment and transfers your proceeds to your verified payout account.
PayPal does not currently support PayRequest Page memberships. It can still process supported one-time purchases.

Create or Connect a Membership

1

Open Community

In the PayRequest dashboard, go to Community.
2

Create or select the plan

Click Enable membership. PayRequest creates a membership product if you do not have one. If membership products already exist, select the one that belongs to this Page.
3

Describe the membership

Add the name and description customers should see. The membership name also labels the Community tab on your public Page.
4

Set price and billing interval

Choose a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly recurring price. Price changes apply to new members; existing subscriptions retain their current price.
5

Add benefits and an image

Enter one benefit per line and optionally upload an image or reuse your Page avatar.
6

Save the plan

Click Save membership. Configure and publish the members area on the same Community screen.

How Joining Works

Visitors open the Community tab on your PayRequest Page and see the membership offer. After they click Become a member and complete the first recurring payment, PayRequest creates an active subscription and unlocks the Community. Visitors can also select Join free before purchasing. Free membership is confirmed by email and unlocks posts marked Free and paid members. Upgrading keeps the same customer identity and adds access to paid members-only content. The public offer can show the membership name, description, image, recurring price, interval, benefits, and join or login action. Membership products do not show a quantity selector because one customer purchases one membership.

Login and Access

Publishing a Community automatically keeps customer login visible on your PayRequest Page. Members receive a single-use magic login link and can immediately open protected content. Access is granted only when:
  • The customer belongs to the business that owns the Page
  • The subscription belongs to the Page’s connected membership product
  • The subscription is active or in trial
If the subscription ends, protected Community content is locked automatically. Cancellation normally preserves access until the end of the paid billing period.

Member Self-Service

Logged-in customers can manage their subscription from their Page account, including cancellation where the product permits it. They can also open My downloads to retrieve digital products purchased from PayRequest creators.
